Masters Graduate, Teresa Balsamo, Cites WoW - Women on Women as Inspiration for Thesis.

Teresa Balsamo is a recent graduate from Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples on 23rd June, having undertaken a Masters degree in Primary Education Sciences. Teresa got in touch with Marianna Penna, Founder of WoW - Women on Women to enquire about including the #WoWChallenge - WoW’s campaign for International Women’s Day - in her thesis titled, "Women's Emancipation in Italy and New Educational Perspectives", to support her theme of how uniting women and empowering collaboration over competition is a powerful yet unique proposition in her field of research.

Teresa says of her thesis; “When researching gender equality activities, I discovered a series of projects and among them, I was lucky enough to find the WoW - Women in Women project created by Marianna Penna. It was created with the aim of supporting women in business who were experiencing an economic impact due to Covid, the #WoWChallenge was designed to showcase these women and celebrate all women who pursue any profession with courage and without setting any limits.”

Upon connecting with WoW, Teresa explained to Marianna what inspired her for her thesis and then soon after, Marianna was able to attend Teresa’s graduation ceremony to celebrate her remarkable academic achievement and career milestone. Teresa has since become a loyal supporter of the WoW community, even participating as a model for WoW’s recent collaboration campaign, Nicoletta Carneiro x WoW Sunwear Capsule Collection.

Teresa and WoW’s connection and ongoing relationship epitomises the WoW ethos of women supporting each other and working together to achieve greater successes collaboratively.

“Discovering that WoW had inspired and informed Teresa’s thesis was a very emotional and proud moment for me. Business successes are great for WoW, but discovering that the work of WoW is able to develop social issues and support equality for children through education is a more fulfilling sense of achievement, both personally and professionally.” Says Marianna Penna, Founder of WoW - Women on Women.

Teresa is now pursuing her ambition as a primary teacher, with the full support of the WoW community.

WoW continues to provide a community for women in business, both in the UK and Italy. And has recently launched PR and brand PR & brand building services to help women-led businesses thrive through storytelling, innovative campaigns and bespoke PR and marketing services.
